tuesday morning prayer group
Join our prayer group on Tuesday mornings from 9:15 - 10:15am in The Connection, room C-17. You will be blessed as you pray for others, because one hour is not much to give back to God for all He does for us! God bless you!
If you have any questions or if you have a prayer request, you can fill out the form to submit to our Church Office.
Fleece blanket ministry
Did you know … Murphy-Harpst Center is a United Methodist Women National Mission Institution? It’s one of four in Georgia. Did you know … they serve the most challenged youth? Many of these youth are placed at the Murphy-Harpst Center by the state because there is nowhere else they can go to get the care they need after experiencing different levels of abuse. These two questions lead to the most important question that you can ask…How can I send a hug and a prayer to these kids? The answer is as easy as coming to our monthly gatherings and tying knots!
Jean Hulsey leads a monthly workshop every first Monday at 10:00am in The Connection, where participants will learn to make no-sew fleece blankets. These blankets are taken to the Murphy-Harpst Center. When children arrive at the center, they receive a fleece blanket to wrap them in warmth and comfort. Murphy-Harpst is thankful that we provide this element of care!
If you would like to make a donation to purchase fleece, you may note your donation "Blanket Ministry". If you would like to purchase fleece on your own or make a blanket at home, please contact Jean Hulsey or the Church Office.
skeins of love
This fellowship and outreach group includes ladies with an interest in knitting and crocheting who meet weekly to make prayer shawls, hats, and scarves. Their handiwork has blessed hearts on a military base in Afghanistan, been dispersed globally through United Methodist Women, warmed people of the Redbird Mission Conference in Kentucky, enveloped children of The United Methodist Children’s Home, and comforted many folks right here in our community.
Skeins of Love invites others to fellowship with them and share in this ministry. All skill levels are welcome. Yarn and instruction are available. Meetings are each Thursday at 10:00am in The Connection, room C-11.
Sweet Sleep Pillowcase Ministry
The Morning Joy UMW Circle serves through The Sweet Sleep Pillowcase Ministry. Through this ministry, homemade pillowcases are signed and prayer is committed for those with a physical, emotional, or spiritual life crisis.
“Give and ye shall receive.” Praying to our Lord Jesus on behalf of others is one of the most powerful things you can do for someone in need. Signing a pillowcase for someone is your promise to pray for that individual throughout their journey. The Morning Joy Ladies are ready to give a free Sweet Sleep pillowcase to someone you might know who would benefit from prayer and this gift.
To request a pillowcase for someone you know, please fill out the form below.

Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving present your request to God."
